September 16, 2001 GENEVA, N.Y.--The Hobart College tennis team defeated Hamilton College 5-2, in the championship match of the Flower City Tournament at Nazareth College. The Statesmen (3-0) defeated Nazareth and RIT by identical 6-1 scores on Saturday, to force this morning's meeting with the Continentals. Hobart captured the first five singles matches on the day, getting wins from sophomore Trevor McAndrew (Northfield-Mt. Hermon/Westerly, R.I.), first-year Peter Pine (Princeton/Princeton, N.J.), senior Andrew Hunt (Woodstock Academy/Pomfret, Conn.), sophomore Jimmie Banta (Wardlaw-Hartridge/Westfield, N.J.), and junior Kevan Marvasti (Jamesville-DeWitt/Jamesville, N.Y.). The pair of Marvasti and McAndrew completed a perfect weekend with the Statesmen's lone doubles victory against Hamilton. Pine, Hunt, Banta, and Marvasti were all 3-0 on the weekend from the
Nos. 2-5 spots in Hobart's lineup. The Flower City title is the first
for the Statesmen under Head Coach Carol Weymuller. The Statesmen return
to action Sept. 28-29, at the Rolex Regional Tournament hosted by Vassar
