William Smith sailing 10th at Navy Intersectional

GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith College sailing team competed at the Navy Women’s Fall Intersectional this past weekend, finishing in 10th place of 17 teams with 241 points. The Herons were only one point away from the ninth spot.

Senior Amanda Callahan (Notre Dame Academy/Canton, Mass.) and sophomore Kate Kana (Gunston School/Easton, Md.) garnered 11th place of 16 teams in the A division, scoring 91 points in the 10 races. Racing in the B division, junior Mora O’Malley (Totino Grace/Dellwood, Minn.) and senior Courtney Wilkens (Hamilton-Wenham/Needham Heights, Mass.) joined forces to earn an 11th place finish as well. Sophomore Emlie Barkow (University Lake School/Nashotah, Wis.) scored a team low 57 points with her fourth place finish in the C division.

The HWS sailing team, ranked number one in the nation, will compete again on Oct. 19-20.
