HWS 7th at Captain Hurst Bowl

Hanover, N.H. -The Hobart and William Smith sailing team recorded a seventh place finish out of 24 teams at the Captain Hurst Bowl hosted by Dartmouth College. The four HWS sailors teamed up to beat 17 other teams in their charge to stay at the front of the pack. Harvard finished with a low score of 38, followed by URI and Yale.
Senior John Storck (St. Anthony’s/Huntington, N.Y.) and sophomore Mandi Markee (Torrey pines/Santa Fe, Calif.) teamed up to finish sixth in the A Division with a score of 36, edging out the Coast Guard by one point. The duo placed within the top 3 in two of the weekend’s races.
Senior Lee Sackett (Gilmour Acadamy/Mentor, Ohio) and junior Augusta Nadler (Tabor Academy/Marion, Mass,) finished in first place of the second race, finishing eighth overall in the B Division with a score of 35.
