William Smith competes in Duplin Trophy

MEDFORD, Mass.—The William Smith College sailing team finished eighth in the 13-team field at the Duplin Trophy hosted by Tufts University this past weekend. Charleston took top honors, while Navy was second.

In the A division senior Emlie Barkow(University Lake School/Nashotah, Wisc.) and first-year Marilyn Cassedy(The Bishop School/San Diego, Ca.) finished in the top six in three of the races, including capturing second place in the eighth race.
Senior Kate May (Cranston East/Cranston, R.I.) and sophomore Kate Brush (Champlain Valley Union/Hinesburg, Vt.) finished in the top six in four of the races, including one second place finish in B division racing.

Both boats for William Smith finished eighth in their respective divisions.

The Colleges’ fourth-ranked sailing team will host the Captain Prosser Trophy and travel to two races, the Ted Farrarone Team Race at Yale and the President’s Trophy at Boston University on April 9-10.
