HWS sailing opens 2005 at John Jackson Memorial

GENEVA, N.Y. –The Hobart and William Smith sailing team finished fourth of 10 teams at the John Jackson Memorial Team Race Regatta hosted by Georgetown University this past weekend. Georgetown finished the weekend in the top-spot, while St. Mary’s earned runner-up honors.

First year Jay Mills (Hotchkiss School/Greenport, N.Y.), seniors John Storck (St. Anthony’s/Hunington, N.Y.) and Lee Sackett (Gilmour Academy/Mentor, Ohio) juniors Molly Lawson (Noble and Greenough School/Duxbury, Mass.) and Augusta Nadler (Tabor Academy/Marion, Mass.), and sophomores Brian Clancy (Boston College/Scituate, Mass.) and Amanda Markee (Torrey Pines/Santa Fe, Calif.) all competed in the round robin event for the colleges, winning 11 of the 19 team races on the weekend.

Hobart and William Smith are ranked seventh in the latest poll and will compete in the St. Mary’s Team Race Invitational, the Admiral Moore regatta, and the Navy Women’s Intersectional this upcoming weekend March 12-13.
