Sailors take 6th at Nevins Trophy

KINGS POINT, N.Y.-The Hobart College sailing team competed in the Nevins Trophy Regatta this past weekend. The Statesmen finished sixth of 20 schools, while Boston College /won the Nevins for the first time.

In the A division senior John Storck(St. Anthony’s/Huntington, NY) and first-year James Landi(Salisbury School/Salisbury, Md) grabbed two top-five finishes, taking seventh place in the division. Senior Lee Sackett(Gilmour Academy/Mentor, Ohio) and junior Zach Goldman(Lutheran/Huntington, NY) had three top-ten finishes for eighth place in the B division.

Racing in the C division, sophomore Trevor Moore(Woodstock Union/Pomfret, VT) had two top-three finishes in five races for fourth place in the division.

The HWS sailing team will sail again in two different events on the weekend of September 25-26.
