HWS third at St. Mary's Open

ST. MARY’S, Md.-The Hobart and William Smith Colleges’ sailing team competed in the St. Mary’s Open for the first U.S. Senators Cup this past weekend. The team finished third out of 18 schools with 49 points, while the U.S. Naval Academy won the event with a weekend low score of 28.
In the A division the team of sophomores Trevor Moore (Woodstock Union/Pomfret, Vt.) and Amanda Markee (Torrey Pines/Santa Fe, Calif.) had two first place finishes in four races to win the division with a low score of eight.
Junior Zack Goldman (Lutheran/Huntington, N.Y.) and sophomore Kate Brush (Champlain Valley Union/Hinesburg, Vt.) had two top-10 finishes for 11th place in the B division.
The HWS sailing team will sail again in four different events on the weekend of October 2-3.
