Storck captures KP Laser Open

KINGS POINT, N.Y.- The Hobart College sailing team opened up its fall season at the KP Laser Open hosted by King’s Point College this past weekend. Hobart senior John Storck (St. Anthony’s/Huntington, N.Y.) captured the top spot. The top three finishers advance to the Mid Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association Singlehanded Championship on Oct. 9-10, at the Naval Academy.

Storck captured the top spot with twelve top-five finishes in 15 races to finish with 60 points, 15 points ahead of his closest competitor. Sophomore Trevor Moore (Woodstock Union/Pomfret, Vt.) finished with three top-three finishes to secure fourth place, while senior Wiley Wakeman(Groton School/Cohasset, Mass.) had seven top-five finishes for fifth place.

The HWS sailing team will sail again in three different events on the weekend of September 11-12.
