U ready for this? HWS sailing to be featured on ESPNU
June 29, 2005
GENEVA, N.Y.—The 2005 Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Championship Regattas were memorable for Hobart and William Smith Colleges. The HWS sailors captured the program’s first two North American championships, securing the team racing title on June 7 and the coed dinghy crown on June 10.
This weekend, fans will have the opportunity to relive that experience.
On Sat., July 2, ESPNU, the new 24-hour college sports network, will televise two 30-minute telecasts from the ICSA championship, which took place in early June on Lake Travis in Austin, Texas. The first show, at noon, will feature the coed dinghy event, followed at 12:30 p.m. by the team race. The shows will re-air on July 6 at 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and July 21 at 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
The shows’ producers followed the action and interviewed coaches and competitors during both of the three-day regattas.
Zack Goldman ’06 (Lutheran/Huntington, N.Y.), Molly Lawson ’06 (Noble & Greenough School/Duxbury, Mass.), Amanda Markee ’07 (Torrey Pines/Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.), Trevor Moore ’07 (Woodstock Union/Pomfret, Vt.), Augusta Nadler ’06 (Tabor Academy/Marion, Mass.), Lee Sackett ’05 (Gilmour Academy/Mentor, Ohio), John Storck ’05 (St. Anthony’s/Huntington, N.Y.) represented Hobart and William Smith in Texas. Markee, Moore, Nadler, Sackett, and Storck earned All-American honors from the ICSA earlier this month.
