GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart junior sailor Trevor Moore (Woodstock Union/Pomfret, Vt.) was named the Rochester Area College Athletics (RACA) Co-Male Athlete of the Week after leading the Hobart and William Smith sailing team to the America Trophy Championship over the weekend.

Moore skippered HWS’s entry in the B Division of the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association coed dinghy championships. Along with senior crew Augusta Nadler (Tabor Academy/Marion, Mass.), Moore dominated the 18-team field, finishing first in six races and second in six more. They completed the weekend’s 15 races with 37 points, 29 better than runner-up Kings Point.

Top-ranked HWS won the regatta, the program’s second straight America Trophy, with a score of 111, 25 points clear of second place Georgetown. The victory earned the Colleges a berth in the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association Coed Dinghy North American Championship, May 31-June 2 in Charleston, S.C.

RACA is not a conference, but an association of the 10 Rochester Area institutions of higher learning (SUNY Brockport, SUNY Geneseo, Hobart College, Keuka College, Nazareth College, Roberts Wesleyan College, Rochester Institute of Technology, St. John Fisher College, the University of Rochester, and William Smith College) working together to recognize the outstanding achievements of their student-athletes.
