HWS sailors take 2nd in season-opener

GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart and William Smith Colleges sailing team opened its spring schedule over the weekend with a second place finish at the Jackson Memorial Team Race. Ten schools competed in the regatta hosted by Georgetown.
Senior skippers Trevor Moore (Woodstock Union/Pomfret, Vt.) and Brian Clancy (Boston College/Scituate, Mass.), junior Jay Mills (Hotchkiss School/Greenport, N.Y.), and sophomore Austin Kana (Gunston School/Easton, Md.) led HWS in the regatta, along with crew members Sarah Borup (Toms River South/Pine Beach, N.J.), senior Mandi Markee (Torrey Pines/Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.), and sophomore Kaitlyn Van Nostrand (Marine Academy/Allenwood, N.J.).
The sailors will be back on the water March 10-11, when they travel to the Team Race Invitational at St. Mary’s, the Admiral Moore Regatta at N.Y. Maritime, and the Women’s Intersectional hosted by Navy.
