HWS takes fourth at Kings Point Fall Dinghy Regatta

GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart and William Smith sailing team continued its strong fall season this past weekend with a fourth place finish at the King’s Point Dinghy Open. Racing in an A and B division, HWS scored a combined 159 points, finishing behind Kings Point, Navy, and Georgetown, respectively.

Garnering nine top-five finishes in the A division, sophomore Eric Oppen (Orono/Wayzata, Minn.), senior John Cline (St. Georges School/Stuart, Fla.) raced their way to the fifth spot with 78 points.

Grabbing the fourth position in the B division for HWS were sophomore Lee Sacket (Gilmour Academy/Mentor, Ohio), senior Courtney Wilkins (Hamilton-Wenham/Needham Heights, Mass.), and John Cline (St. Georges School/Stuart, Fla.). They finished as one of the top two boats seven times, missing third place by only one point.
