Hobart sailors win Pine Trophy
September 14-15, 2002
NEW LONDON, Conn.--Hobart won the Pine Trophy Regatta this past weekend, behind the efforts of seniors Sam Rogers (Breck School/Excelsior, Minn.) and Rob Storck (Northport/Northport, N.Y.) and junior Jeff Sullivan (McQuaid/Rochester, N.Y.). The Statesmen edged runner up Charleston by just three points, 21-24.
Sailing in J-22s, the Statesmen finished second in seven of the weekend's 10 races. Hobart also won a pair of races, posting its first overall victory of the season.
