HWS sailing hosts in Atlantic Coach Freshmen Championship

GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart and William Smith sailing team hosted the Atlantic Coast Freshman Championship this past weekend. Racing in windy but warm conditions, HWS finished in 10th place of 12 teams with 178 points. Tufts took the top spot with a low 109 points

Racing in the A division for HWS were Jake Dewey (Hanover/Hyannis Port, Mass.), Aysequl Duru (Santa Fe/Bodrum Muqlu, Turkey), and Rob Aspinwall (Tabor Academy/Darien, Conn.). They combined for eight top-ten finishes for 10th place of the twelve teams. Tyler Sandberg (Brewster Academy/Riverside, Conn.), Katherine Torski (Wilton/Wilton, Conn.), and Justin Bauer (Portsmouth Abbey/Burlington, Conn.) raced their boats in the B division. Their five top-five finishes in 12 races landed the trio in eighth place with 81 points.
