HWS sailors advance to MAISA finals

THROGGS NECK, N.Y.-The Hobart and William Smith sailing team competed this weekend at the New York Maritime for the right to represent MAISA in the Team Race Nationals. Hobart and William Smith placed third out of eight teams just edging Old Dominion for the third spot in the finals.
Competing for HWS were seniors Sam Rogers (Breck School/Excelsior, Minn.), Amanda Callahan (Notre Dame Academy/Canton Mass.), John Cline (St. George's School/Stuart, Fla.), Matt Herbster (Brewster Academy/Manchester, Mass.), juniors Ed Norton (Tabor Academy/Fair Haven, N.J.), John Pearce (Ithaca/Ithaca, N.Y.), Alexis Rubin (Edmund Burke/Potomac Md.), Oscar Barney (Marshfield/Coos Bay, Ore.), Jeff Sullivan (McQuaid/Rochester, N.Y.) and first-year Augusta Nadlar (Tabor Academy/Marion, Mass.).
