HWS sailors win St. Mary's Fall Open

GENEVA, N.Y.—Four Hobart and William Smith College sailors joined forces this past weekend to win the St. Mary’s Fall Open. HWS scored a regatta low 130 points to outrace Georgetown by 21, while St. Mary’s took third.

Sailing in the A division, junior Lee Sackett (Gilmour Academy/Mentor, Ohio) and senior Oscar Barney (Marshfield/Coos Bay, Ore.) finished in the top five in nine of the 17 races, including a win in the eighth race, to grab second place in the division with 79 points.

First-year Brian Clancy (Boston College/Soituate, Mass.) and senior Alexis Rubin (Edmund Burke/Potomac, Md.) were outstanding in the B division. Grabbing either the first or second spot in eight races, the pair scored a low 51 points for the division victory.
