Moore qualifies for MAISA Singles

ANNAPOLIS, Md.—Hobart College first-year Trevor Moore (Woodstock, Vt.) captured fourth place at the Navy Laser Open this past weekend. The top six finishers qualify for the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association Singlehanded Championships at Kings Point on Oct. 11-12. Peeter Must of US Merchant Marine Academy claimed the top spot, notching a regatta-low 90 points.
Racing in a field of 24 competitors, Moore grabbed seven top-five finishes, including two victories, in 16 races, scoring 107 points. First-year Ben Wicks (Bermuda) and junior Wiley Wakeman (Groton School/Cohasset, Mass.) also competed, finishing 11th and 15th, respectively.
The final qualifier for the MAISA Singlehanded Championships will be the Laser Qualifier North at Kings Point on Sept. 27-28.
