HWS 3rd at N.Y. Maritime Open

April 17, 2002

THROGGS NECK, N.Y.--The Hobart and William Smith Sailing team finished third at the New York Maritime Open this weekend. On the first day of competition win on the East River increased from 4-6 knots to 12-14 by the end of the day. Competition canceled on the second day due to lack of wind. Finishing third in the A division were first-years Eric Oppen and Kate May with a score of 50. In the B division junior Peter Blain and and first-year Emlie Barkow with 55 points.
