HWS 4th at Owen Trophy

March 24, 2002

NEW LONDON, Conn.-- The Hobart and William Smith sailing team finished fourth at the Owen Trophy Regatta at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy this weekend. On the first day of competition, 10 races were sailed in 15-25 knot west by southwest gusts. Six races were in 5-15 knot south westerly winds on the second day. Winning the A division for HWS with 91 points were senior Sarah Angell and first-year Eric Oppen. Senior Matt Shirilla and first-year Kate Kana finished eighth in the B division with a score of 114.
