Pearce and Stork finish top-10 at MAISA Singlehanded Championship

GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College junior John Pearce (Ithaca/Ithaca, N.Y.) and sophomore John Stork (St. Anthony’s/Huntington, N.Y.) finished ninth and 10th, respectively at the Mid-Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association Singlehanded Championship this past weekend. Pearce finished the day with 99 points, while Stork scored 108 on the afternoon.

Competing in the A division, Pearce’s placed second once and fourth twice in 11 races. Stork had similar success, finishing third once and in the top ten seven different times. Andrew Campbell (The Bishops School/San Diego, Calif.) of Georgetown garnered the top spot with a low score of 28 points in the 11 races.

The HWS sailing team, ranked number one in the nation, will compete again on Oct. 19-20.
