Sailors take 2nd at Nevins Trophy

September 21-22, 2002

KINGS POINT, N.Y.--The Hobart and William Smith sailing team finished second at in the Nevins Trophy Regatta, hosted by the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. HWS took second place in the B Division, coupled with fourth place showings in the A and C Divisions.

Seniors John Cline (St. Georges School/Stuart, Fla.), Matt Herbster (Brewster Academy/Manchester, Mass.), and Sam Rogers (Breck School/Excelsior, Minn.), junior Ed Norton (Tabor Academy/Fair Haven, N.J.), sophomore John Storck (St. Anthony's/Huntington, N.Y.), and first-year Augusta Nadler (Tabor Academy/Marion, Mass.) represented the Colleges.

The sailors combined for nine victories and 31 top-5 finishes in 60 races over the weekend.
