HWS sailors finish third at MAISA North #1

GENEVA, N.Y.—The HWS sailing team continued its great 2002 performance with a third place finish of 16 teams at the N.Y. Maritime North #1 behind Navy and Columbia. Scoring a total of 127 points in 28 races, HWS missed second place by just three points.
Leading the way for the sailing team in the A division were senior Matt Shirilla (Grosse Point South/Grosse Point, Mich.) and sophomore Kate May (Cranston East/Cranston, R.I.) with nine top five finishes, scoring a total of 72 points. Sophomore Lee Sacket (Gilmour Academy/Mentor, Ohio) and senior Sarah Hawkins (Barrington/Barrington, R.I.) competed in the B division for HWS, bringing in 10 top five performances on their way to a score of 55.
