HWS 7th at Truxtun Umsted

March 17, 2002

ANNAPOLIS, Md.--The Hobart and William Smith finished seventh at the Truxtun Umsted Regatta at Navy this weekend. On the first day of competition six races were sailed in very shifty northeasterly winds after a delay. On the final day of competition, 10 races were sailed on a trapezoid course on the Servern River. Junior Sam Rogers and sophomores Alexis Rubin and Oscar Barney finished ninth in the A division with a score of 144. In the B division juniors Matt Herbster and John Cline and sophomores Ed Norton and Barney sailed to a 10th place finish with 146 points. In the C division first-year John Storck finished sixth with 148 points, while sophomore John Pearce was third in the D division with a score of 108.
