William Smith sailing team 11th at Navy Spring Intersectional

ANNAPOLIS, Md.—The William Smith College sailing team competed in the Navy Spring Women’s Intersectional this past weekend at the Naval Academy. The Herons finished 11th of 15 teams, with Old Dominion and St. Mary’s College earning the top two spots.

Competing in the A Division for the Herons were sophomore Kate May (Cranston East/Cranston, R.I.) and senior Sonya Smith (Falmouth/Falmouth, Mass.). The two combined for eight top-10 finishes for ninth place. Racing in the B Division, sophomores Emily Barkow (University Lake School/Nashotah, Wis.) and Kate Kana(Gunston School/Easton, Md.) grabbed 11th with 142 points, just two points shy of 10th place.
