Czajkowski named Liberty League Forward of the Week

GENEVA, N.Y.—William Smith sophomore forward Stephanie Czajkowski (Bishop Ludden/Syracuse, N.Y.) was named the Liberty League Women’s Basketball Co-Forward of the Week this afternoon by the conference office. Czajkowski led the Herons to a pair of conference victories over the weekend, averaging 12.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.0 steals.
On Friday against Vassar, Czajkowski had six points, five boards, and two steals in a 57-44 triumph. On Saturday against Rensselaer, she posted her first double-double of the season on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Czajkowski was 9-of-15 from the floor and also had four steals as the Herons dispatched the Red Hawks 65-46. For the week, she shot .524 (11-21) from the floor and was 3-of-3 from the free throw line.
For the season, Czajkowski is scoring 9.5 points per game, a team-leading 6.1 rebounds per game and is shooting a Liberty League best .533 from the floor.
William Smith (8-3) returns to action on Jan. 17, when the Herons travel to Elmira. The non-conference contest is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m.
