GENEVA, N.Y.—William Smith sophomore forward Stephanie Czajkowski (Bishop Ludden/Syracuse, N.Y.) was named the Liberty League Women’s Basketball Forward of the Week by the conference office this afternoon. It is the second time in a row and third time this season she has earned the weekly honor.

Czajkowski averaged 14.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 steals in a 2-0 weekend for the Herons. At Rensselaer on Friday, she scored 16 points and pulled down six rebounds as William Smith topped the Red Hawks 63-50. The following afternoon at Vassar, Czajkowski posted her third double-double of the season, recording 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds in a 66-57 win over the Brewers.

For the season, Czajkowski leads the conference in field goal percentage (.495) and ranks in the top-15 in rebounding (8th, 6.6 rpg), scoring (13th, 10.2 ppg), and steals (15th, 1.62 spg). During Liberty League play, she is averaging 11.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals.

Riding a seven-game win streak, William Smith is 17-4 overall, 10-1 in the Liberty League. The Herons will close out the home portion of their regular season schedule on Feb. 14, when Hamilton College visits Bristol Gym. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Prior to the start of the game, William Smith will honor the team’s three seniors: forward Seraphine Hamilton (The Peddie School/Trenton, N.J.), forward Tanya Richvalsky (Mohawk/Mohawk, N.Y.), and guard Pria Young (Council Rock/Richboro, Pa.).

In honor of Valentine’s Day, gift certificates from area restaurants will be given away throughout the game and the Hypnotiqs dance team will perform at halftime. The evening’s giveaways are sponsored by Alice’s Kitchen, Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant, Main Moon, Top Dawg, and Water Street Café.
