Golf Ball Race winner crowned

William Smith sophomore Jaclyn Wagner won $1,000 in the William Smith basketball team's Golf Ball Race fundraiser. More than 400 golf balls were launched from the top of the McCooey Field press box following the William Smith field hockey game on Oct. 28. Wagner's winning golf ball rolled the furthest.
The Herons will donate a portion of the proceeds to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts through the HWS Responds program. The remainder of the proceeds will help fund the team's trip to California for three games in January.
