GENEVA, N.Y.—Two William Smith College basketball players were honored by the Liberty League this afternoon. Junior forward Stephanie Czajkowski (Bishop Ludden/Syracuse, N.Y.) was named the Liberty League Co-Forward of the Week, while first-year forward Erin Cunningham (Morris Knolls/Rockaway, N.J.) earned Co-Rookie of the Week honors.

Czajkowski and Cunningham led the Herons to two wins last week, improving their overall record to 4-3. William Smith dropped a close game to nationally-ranked Rochester, 74-69, before rebounding to defeat CUNY York, 62-36, and give Brockport its first loss of the season, 72-59, in the Brockport Invitational over the weekend.

Czajkowski averaged 18 points per game, totaling 54 points, 17 rebounds, five steals, and three assists over three games. She netted a game-high 25 points against Rochester, added 10 points against CUNY York, and tallied 19 points and eight rebounds against the Golden Eagles, earning a place on the All-Tournament Team in the process. Czajkowski leads the team in scoring (16.0 ppg) and rebounding (8.1 rpg).

Cunningham netted 28 points and pulled down 22 rebounds last week. She chipped in six points and nine boards in the loss to Rochester, before tallying a game-high 16 points and seven rebounds in the victory over CUNY York on Friday. She went on to add a solid six points and six rebounds in the win over Brockport on Sunday.

William Smith will travel to Hartwick on Jan. 2 for a non-league game at 6 p.m.
