Hadwin earns UCAA honor again

GENEVA, N.Y.–For the second straight week and third time this season, the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association has named William Smith College basketball player Laura Hadwin (Vestal/Vestal, N.Y.) its Forward of the Week. The junior averaged 25.0 ppg and 10.0 rpg in a weekend sweep for the Herons, while shooting 70.0 percent from the floor, 75 percent from three-point range, and 79 percent from the free throw line.

At Skidmore on Jan. 18, Hadwin dominated the Thoroughbreds for a career-high 33 points and grabbed five rebounds in William Smith's 61-50 victory. The forward followed up the performance with 14 points, eight boards, and four assists in the Herons' 81-73 victory over Union. Hadwin leads the team and the league in scoring with 18.2 ppg. She also leads the team and is second in the UCAA in field goal percentage at .548.

William Smith (10-3, 3-1 UCAA) travels to Hamilton tonight to face the Continentals at 6 p.m. The Herons swept the season series with Hamilton last year.
