GENEVA, N.Y.—William Smith College senior Laura Hadwin (Vestal/Vestal, N.Y.) was named the Women’s Basketball Co-Forward of the Week by the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association this afternoon. She averaged 18.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.0 blocked shots in a 1-2 week for the Herons.

At Buffalo State on Tuesday, Hadwin scored 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting and pulled down eight rebounds. On Friday against St. Lawrence, she posted a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. The following afternoon in a 65-64 win over Clarkson, she scored 20 points, including a personal 10-0 run in the second half, knocking down 6-of-12 from the floor and 8-of-10 from the line. Hadwin’s first field goal against the Golden Knights raised her career total to 1,000, making her just the 11th Heron to reach that milestone.

For the season, Hadwin is leading William Smith (5-5, 1-1 in UCAA) in scoring (19.4 ppg), rebounding (8.7 rpg), and field goal percentage (.507).

The Herons return to action at 7 p.m., on Jan. 21, at Brockport State.
