Hadwin named to ECAC Upstate Honor Roll

GENEVA, N.Y.–The Eastern College Athletic Conference has recognized William Smith College basketball player Laura Hadwin (Vestal/Vestal, N.Y.) for her standout play last week. The junior was named to the ECAC Upstate Division III Weekly Honor Roll after averaging 16.3 ppg and 10.0 rpg in three games, while shooting 47.2 percent from the floor and 88.2 percent from the free throw line.

On Jan. 7, Hadwin netted 19 points and corralled 13 boards against Catholic University. She recorded 12 points and 11 rebounds in William Smith's Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association opening 83-33 rout of Vassar College on Jan. 11. Hadwin closed the week with a game-high 18 points against Rensselaer. The forward leads the Herons and the league in scoring with 17 ppg, is second in the league and tops the team in field goal percentage with .522. Hadwin was also named the UCAA Forward of the Week.

William Smith (8-3, 1-1 UCAA) travels to Skidmore College and Union College on Jan. 18-19. Last season, the Herons swept the Thoroughbreds and split with the Dutchwomen.
