Hadwin named UCAA Forward of the Week

GENEVA, N.Y.–William Smith College basketball player Laura Hadwin (Vestal/Vestal, N.Y.) is the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association's Forward of the Week. The junior averaged 16.3 ppg and 10.0 rpg in three games for the Herons last week, while shooting 47.2 percent from the floor and 88.2 percent from the free throw line.
On Jan. 7, Hadwin netted 19 points and corralled 13 boards against Catholic University. She recorded 12 points and 11 rebounds in William Smith's UCAA opening 83-33 rout of Vassar College on Jan. 11. Hadwin closed the week with a game-high 18 points against Rensselaer. The forward leads the Herons and the league in scoring with 17 ppg, is second in the league and tops the team in field goal percentage with .522.
William Smith (8-3, 1-1 UCAA) travels to Skidmore College and Union College on Jan. 18-19. Last season, the Herons swept the Thoroughbreds and split with the Dutchwomen.
