Hellebush named UCAA Rookie of the Week January 12, 2004 At Nazareth, she scored a game-high 18 points, including a pair of three-pointers, while contributing six rebounds, three steals, and two assists in a 60-55 win. William Smith trailed the Golden Flyers by eight with 4:33 remaining in the first half, but the Herons outscored their hosts 13-0, including five points from Hellebush to take a five-point lead into the locker room, a lead the team did not yield in the second half. At Fredonia, she scored 13 points, grabbed five boards, and handed out three assists in a six-point Heron loss. In eight starts, Hellebush leads William Smith in scoring (12.5 ppg), three-point field goal percentage (.326), blocked shots (4), and minutes played (28.4). She ranks among the top-10 in the UCAA in free throw percentage (5th, .800), scoring (6th), three-point field goals made (7th, 35), and three-point field goal percentage (9th). The Herons (4-4) will play their final non-conference tune up on Jan. 13, when they host the Buffalo State Bengals (4-6) at 7 p.m., in Bristol Gym. William Smith kicks off its UCAA circuit with a trip to Vassar on Jan. 16. |
