Heron second varsity 8+ wins league award

GENEVA, N.Y.— The William Smith College crew team earned its fifth award in as many weeks, with the Heron second varsity eight receiving Liberty League Boat of the Week honors after winning its race at the Head of the Fish Regatta.
The Herons finished with a time of 12:09.08, more than 14 seconds ahead of second place finisher, UMass. The Herons rowed a decisive, aggressive race with excellent rhythm. William Smith flew past Colgate, Vermont, St. Lawrence, Wesleyan, and Rensselaer.
The second varsity eight was powered by sophomore Kenzie Cannon (Berkshire/Canaan, Conn.), sophomore Alexandra Bowers (Tabor Academy/East Sandwich, Mass.), junior Jess Wojslaw (Norwalk/Norwalk, Conn.), sophomore Becky Gosse (Cortland/Cortland, N.Y.), sophomore Christa Hibbard (Fairport/Fairport, N.Y.), senior Kathryn Loddengaard (Hampton Bay/Hampton Bay, N.Y.), junior Cristina Mulcahy (St. Michael’s/Santa Fe, N.M.), senior Michelle Dodge (St. Paul’s School/Jackson, N.H.), and sophomore Emily Maguire (Miss Porter’s School/Madison, Conn.).
The Head of the Fish was the final event of the fall season for the Herons.
