William Smith runs in ECAC Championships

WATERFORD, CONN.—The William Smith cross country team finished 18th out of 29 teams this afternoon at the ECAC Championships. Amherst took home top honors followed by Tufts and Williams.
Senior Kate Chabot (Keene/Keene, N.H.) was the first Heron to cross the finish line, covering the 6-kilometer course in a season-low time of 24:58 to earn a 74th place finish out of 227 competitors. First-year Cathleen Zupan (Cazenovia Central/Cazenovia, N.Y.) also turned in a season-best time of 26:11 to edge out a Suffolk University runner for 103rd.
William Smith will return to action on Nov. 5 when the Herons compete at the NCAA Regional Championships.
