Herons finish 7th at Hoffman Invitational

CANTON, N.Y.—The William Smith College cross country team finished seventh at the six-kilometer Ronald C. Hoffman Invitational at St. Lawrence this afternoon. Vermont won the meet with 34 points, followed by St. Lawrence with 63 points.
Junior Leanne Roncolato (Meadville, Meadville, Pa.) paced the Herons with a time of 24:27, earning her an 18th place finish. Senior Kate Chabot (Keene/Keene, N.H.) covered the course in 25:29, edging out junior Jen Strong (Honeoye/Honeoye, N.Y.) by four seconds.
The Herons will return to action on Oct. 1 when they compete at the Liberty League Championships at Hamilton College.
