William Smith posts fifth place finish at Liberty League Championships

GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith College cross country team turned in a fifth place finish at the Liberty League Championships this afternoon at Hamilton College. St. Lawrence University took top honors followed by host Hamilton.
Junior Leanne Roncolato (Meadville/Meadville, Pa.) crossed the finish line first for the Herons, covering the 6-kilometer course in 24:33 to earn a 14th place finish. Senior Kate Chabot (Keene/Keene, N.H.) recorded a season-best time of 25:22, edging out Rensselaer runner Julia Moore for 20th place.
The Herons will return to action on Oct. 15 at the Robert Wesleyan Invitational. Racing will begin at 11 a.m.
