Roncolato leads William Smith in Heron Invitational

GENEVA, N.Y.—Sophomore Leanne Roncolato (Meadville/Meadville, Pa.) was the top Heron finisher in the annual Heron Cross Country Invitational. She crossed the line ninth in a time of 26:51.
Junior Kate Chabot (Keane/Keane, N.H.) was second for William Smith in 12th place overall, covering the 6-kilometer course in 27:29. Sophomore Jen Strong (Honeoye/Honeoye, N.Y.) also finished in the top half of the 28-runner field, placing 14th in 28:13.
Clarkson University captured the team title followed by Daemen, Potsdam and William Smith.
William Smith returns to action on Nov. 6, competing in the ECAC Championships in Grafton, Mass.
