Herons finish 9th at Saratoga Invitational

GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith cross country team finished ninth out of 13 teams at the Saratoga Invitational this afternoon. Ithaca took home top honors followed by St. Lawrence and Trinity.
Junior Leanne Roncolato (Meadville/Meadville, Pa.) crossed the finish line first for the Herons, completing the 5k course in a time of 19:22.90 to earn a 26th place out of 125 runners. Classmate Jen Strong (Honeoye/Honeoye, N.Y.) edged out Ithaca’s Susan Meyer by 30 tenths of a second for 40th place.
William Smith will return to action when the team competes at the CCOC Championships on Oct. 29.
