Herons finish 18th at ECAC Championships

GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith College cross country team finished 18th of 35 teams in the ECAC Championships, held at Williams College last Saturday. Senior Leanne Roncolato (Meadville/Meadville, Pa.) was the first Heron to cross the line, coming in 88th out of 242 runners. She completed the 6-kilometer course in a time of 25:42.
Junior Morgan MacCuaig (Mendon/Rutland, Vt.) recorded a personal-best 6-k time of 26:03, shaving 31 seconds off her previous-best of 26:34. MacCuaig finished 101st, while first-year Liz Mills (Tully/Lafayette, N.Y.) finished 113th. Rounding out the field for the Herons were sophomores Cathleen Zupan (Cazenovia/Cazenovia, N.Y.) (135th) and Paige Myers (Massena/Massena, N.Y.) (141st), first-year Kathryn Pietrak (Nardin Academy/Amherst, N.Y.) (142nd), and junior Kathleen Kohl (Pembroke/Corfu, N.Y.) (173rd).
William Smith will take part in the NCAA Regional Championships on Nov. 11. The event is schedules to begin at noon in Mount Morris, N.Y.
