Mills top finisher for Herons

CLINTON, N.Y.—First-year Liz Mills (Tully/Lafayette, N.Y.) was the top finisher for the William Smith cross country team today at the Liberty League Championships, held at Hamilton College. Mills completed the 6-kilometer course in a time of 26:19 to finish 35th out of 80 runners. The Herons recorded a seventh-place team finish.
Harriers Morgan MacCuaig (Rutland/Mendon, Vt.) and Katie Pietrak (Nardin Academy/Amherst, N.Y.) finished 45th and 51st, respectively, while Paige Myers (Massena/Massena, N.Y.) came in 56th place for William Smith.
The Herons return to action on Oct. 14 at the Roberts Wesleyan Invitational, starting at 11 a.m.
