Rider leads Herons at Oswego State

GENEVA, N.Y. – Sophomore Molly Rider (Concord/Concord, N.H.) continued to show that she is the Herons top cross country runner, finishing 31st out of 159 runners at the Pat Peterson Invitational hosted by Oswego State. Rider crossed the finish line with a time of 20:28. As a team, William Smith came in 10th out of 14 teams.

Senior Carolyn Suss (Horseheads/Pine Valley, N.Y.) was next for the Herons, completing the 5k race in 20:57. First-year Kathryn Chabot (Keene/Keene, N.H.) and sophomore Breanna Greene (Hugh C. Williams/Canton, N.Y) followed with times of 21:47 and 22:09, respectively. Rounding out the top five was junior Emily LaDuca (Mt. Mercy Academy/Hamburg, N.Y.) crossing the line in 23:27. First-years Karilea Gallow (Groton/Groton, N.Y.) and Amanda Condello (Irondequoit/Rochester, N.Y.) each shaved nearly a minute off their previous time, finishing the race in 23:38 and 24:36, respectively. Sophomore Claudia Offray (Kent Place School/Gillette, N.J.) completed the course in 25:11, while first-years Lauren Woody (St. Mark’s School/Hopkinton, Mass.) and Jessica Sholder (Mt. Lebanon/Pittsburgh, Pa.) rounded out the William Smith pack in 26:00 and 26:10.

The Herons race again on Sept. 21, at the Hobart Invitational at 11 a.m.
