Herons run at Roberts Wesleyan Invitational

GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith College cross country team competed in the Harry F. Anderson Cross Country Invitational, hosted by Roberts Wesleyan College this past weekend. The Herons finished in 12th out of 12 teams. Cornell University earned the top spot, scoring onlyl 19 points on the day.

Sophomore Molly Rider (Concord/Concord, N.H.) led the way for the William Smith harriers, completing the 5k course in 21:00 for a 45th place finish of 132 runners. Kathryn Chabot (Keene/Keene, N.H.) and Carolyn Suss (Horseheads/Pine Valley, N.Y.) paced each other throughout the three miles, crossing the finish line in 22:13 and 22:24 respectively. Also joining forces during the race were Jennifer Davenport (G. Ray Bodley/Fulton, N.Y.) and Breanna Greene (Hugh C. Williams/Canton, N.Y.) with their respective times of 23:20 and 23:26. Emily LaDuca (Mt. Mercy Academy/Hamburg, N.Y.) ran a solid race, covering the three miles in 23:53, while Amanda Condello (Irondequoit/Rochester, N.Y.) finished with a time of 24:38. Rounding out the William Smith group was Claudia Offray (Kent Place School/Gillette, N.J.) crossing the line in 25:35.

The Herons will run again on Oct. 26, at the Union Invitational, scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
