GENEVA, N.Y.-- For the second week in a row, William Smith College junior Amy Young (Hugh C. Williams/Canton, N.Y.) is the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association's Cross Country Performer of the Week. The junior helped the Herons to a second place finish at the Houghton Invitational.

Young won her third straight race and broke her second course record in as many weeks. At Houghton, the Heron smashed the course record with a 5k time of 19:23, finishing a minute and 32 seconds in front of the second place runner.

William Smith travels to the UCAA Championships on Sept. 29. The Herons were fifth at the Championships last season.
