Young named ECAC Athlete of the Week

GENEVA, N.Y.-- William Smith College junior Amy Young (Hugh C. Williams/Canton, N.Y.) is the Eastern College Athletic Conference's Cross Country Athlete of the Week. The junior broke her own Heron record at the RPI Invitational at Saratoga Springs, helping William Smith to a fourth place finish. The performance earned Young her second consecutive Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association Performer of the Week award.
Young ran a 5k time of 18:04, besting her own record of 18:07. She has won five of her seven races this season. Young has finished no worse than third in any race this year and has broken two course records.
The Herons host the Heron Invitational on Oct. 27, at Seneca Lake State
Park at 11 a.m. William Smith has won all four Heron Invitationals.
