Young named Performer of the Week
October 16, 2001
GENEVA, N.Y.-- For the third time this season, William Smith College junior Amy Young (Hugh C. Williams/Canton, N.Y.) is the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association's Cross Country Performer of the Week. The junior helped the Herons to a second place finish at the Ronald C. Hoffman Invitational hosted by St. Lawrence University.
Young won her fourth race this season with a 5k time of 19:27, 13 seconds in front of the second place finisher. In her six races this season, the junior has finished no worse than third and broken two course records.
The Herons are back in action Oct. 20, when they travel to Saratoga Springs,
for the Saratoga Invitational.
