GENEVA, N.Y.-- William Smith College junior Amy Young (Hugh C. Williams/Canton, N.Y.) has been named the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association's Cross Country Performer of the Week for the third straight week and fifth time this season. The junior won her third race in a row and led the Herons to their fifth consecutive Heron Invitational Title.

Young ran a 5k time of 18:29, just two seconds shy of her own course record. She has won six of her eight races this season. Young has finished no worse than third in any race this season and has broken two course records.

The Herons are back in action on Nov. 3, when they travel to the ECAC Championships at Williamstown, Mass. William Smith was ninth in the 35-team field last season.
