Young named Performer of the Week

GENEVA, N.Y.-- William Smith College junior Amy Young (Hugh C. Williams/Canton, N.Y.) has been named the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association's Cross Country Performer of the Week for the fourth straight week and sixth time this season. The Heron finished third at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships in Williamstown, Mass.
Young ran a 5k time of 19:03, helping the Herons to a 14th place finish in the 33-team field. In her three seasons, the junior has finished third twice and fourth once at the ECAC Championships. Young has won six of her nine races this season, finished no worse than third, and has broken two course records.
The Herons are back in action on Nov. 10, when they travel to the NCAA
Regional Championship in New York City.
