Young wins at Oswego State

OSWEGO, N.Y.-- Junior (Hugh C. Williams/Canton, N.Y.) captured her first win of the season with a 5k time of 18:48 at the Pat Peterson Invitational hosted by Oswego State. William Smith finished seventh in the 14-team field, two spots higher than last season.

For the second time in as many weeks, first-year Molly Rider (Concord/Concord, N.H.) was the Herons next finisher with a time of 22:05. First-year Breanna Greene (Hugh C. Williams/Canton, N.Y.) was 37 seconds behind Rider, posting a time of 22:42. Senior Brooke Gordon (Manhasset/Port Washington, N.Y.) ran a time of 22:47. First-year Jennifer Davenport (Ray Bodley/Fulton, N.Y.) finished with a time of 23:06. Sophomore Emily LaDuca (Mt. Mercy Academy/Hamburg, N.Y.) posted a time of 23:12 in her first race of the year. Seniors Kelly Hutchinson (Lawrenceville School/Jobstown, N.J.) and Kerry Gannaway (Moses Brown/Providence, R.I.) recorded times of 23:42 and 24:11, respectively.

The Herons are back in action Sept. 15, at 11 a.m., when they host the Hobart and William Smith Invitational.
