Dennis collects Liberty League weekly award

GENEVA, N.Y.—William Smith College sophomore forward Sophie Dennis (Dana L. West/Port Byron, N.Y.) was named the Liberty League Field Hockey Co-Performer of the Week, for the week ending Sept. 5. She notched a hat trick in the Herons’ season opener.
Dennis opened the 2004 season right where she left off, scoring three of the game’s final four goals, including the game-winner, to lead William Smith to a 4-2 win over Geneseo State on Wednesday. Connecting on three of her five shots against the Blue Knights, Dennis leads all Herons with six points on the season.
Sporting a 1-1 record overall, William Smith will make its 2004 home debut on Sept. 11, hosting Oswego at 2 p.m., on McCooey Field.
